砂金的搬運(yùn)方式，根據(jù)沈陽礦產(chǎn)所呂英杰等同志的研究有四種：單礦物（金粒）搬運(yùn)，“運(yùn)載”式搬運(yùn)，接力式搬運(yùn)，金在水溶液中搬運(yùn)。我國主要江河如黑龍江、黃河、長江、珠江、額爾齊斯河、遼河、灤河等均產(chǎn)砂金。砂金的分布不是普遍的，一級水系長江、黃河、額爾齊斯河等雖有砂金分布，但品位低，深度大，顆粒一般較細(xì)。目前尚難利用。二級水系砂金礦化比較普遍，如湘江、沅江、昌江、漢水、洛河等的沙洲、沙壩、邊灘大都分布有砂金礦點(diǎn)。但品位低、規(guī)模小。3～4級支流河谷是砂金主要賦存部位，也是工業(yè)開發(fā)的主要對象。5級以上的支溝細(xì)谷規(guī)模小、品位較富，是民采的主要對象。
由于水流動(dòng)態(tài)所致，我國西部砂金主要以沖洪積、冰磧型為主，東部地區(qū)以沖積型為主。內(nèi)蒙古高平原區(qū)以洪積型為主。
